Seeking the Master was
the most comprehensive, straight from the shoulder, practical
pilgrim’s guide to India ever to be produced. It had been the trustworthy bible of India-bound
seekers for twenty years and was known fondly as ‘The
Five-star Guru-Guide.’ First published in 1980 it is now
out of print and much of the information is out of date.
It was also an encyclopaedic cornucopia of contemporary
Indian spirituality, including potted histories of all the major
Gurus and cults with a distillation of their teachings, plus articles
on Choosing a Guru, Warnings to the Unwary, the Ashram Tradition,
Diet and Health Hints, Hindu Gods, Maps, Geographical and Historical
information and a Hindu-Sanskrit Glossary.
